I was considering getting a portable 1TB Samsung T5 SSD for my shield and using that as an adopted drive. I have a server running on my Shield Pro and it pulls media from a 2TB storage drive my Shields, other PCs and Macs, mobile devices) with no problem? As a PleX Server, can a modern Intel i7 PC without a dedicated GPU card (has integrated graphics only) successfully host both 4K HDR / 4K remux / Dolby Vision content and lossless audio for its clients (i.e. Which is best as a PleX Server for my situation?ī. Therefore I'm concerned that making any of my Shields into a PleX Server will make the Shields lag even more and eat up any remaining space. I also read that PleX / PleX Server can only be installed on system storage (which is only 16GB), not adopted storage. Both of them already have lot of apps installed. I have some 4K and Blu-Ray content, but most of it is 1080p and lowerīoth of my Shields already lag at times. I have files in formats such as AVI, MP3, MP4, MKV, FLV, FLAC, AIFF, AAC / M4A, etc. The cheap PCs I have are just too slow and out of date, and I don't want my main computers to run 24/7. I'm looking into buying a new PC with 11th Gen Intel i7 to use as a 24/7 server.
